Mandatory Registration (RFID)

You cannot start the trek without an RFID Yatra Parcha. This is for the safety and counting of all pilgrims.

The official way to register is via the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) website. You can pre-book your RFID card up to 60 days in advance. Once you arrive in Katra, show your confirmation to get the physical card.

Registration Points in Katra: If you haven't booked online, there are physical counters at the Katra Railway Station and near the Bus Stand. Carry a valid ID proof (Aadhar/Voter ID) for each person.

Best Time to Visit

Plan your trip according to the seasons for the best spiritual experience.

Summer (April - June)

Pleasant weather, ideal for families and heavy walking. However, this is peak season, so expect larger crowds and longer wait times for darshan.

Monsoon (July - Sept)

Rainy but beautiful. The trek offers lush green views. Be prepared for occasional delays in helicopter and battery car services due to weather.

Winter (Oct - March)

Cold and serene. During peak winter, you might even witness snowfall. It is less crowded but requires heavy woolen clothing.
