0 KM: Katra Base Camp

Register online or at the registration counter in Katra to receive your RFID Yatra Parcha. This tag is mandatory for your journey and is checked before you enter the main path.

1.5 KM: Banganga Checkpost

The first significant stop where the trek begins. Devotees often wash their hands and feet here in the holy river. It's believed Mata Rani rested here on her way to the hills.

2.5 KM: Charan Paduka

A small temple where you can find the footprints of the Goddess. The climb from here starts getting slightly steeper, but many devotees choose to continue on foot with spirit.

6 KM: Ardhkuwari (Halfway)

One of the most sacred spots. Here is the Garbhjun Cave where Mata Kali once resided. Thousands wait here for their turn to pass through the holy cave. Battery cars operate from here for senior citizens and children.

9.5 KM: Sanjichhat

The highest point on the old trek route before you descend slightly towards Bhavan. Helicopter services land here for those who prefer to fly. It offers a majestic view of the Himalayan foothills.

12-14 KM: The Holy Bhavan

The final destination. After arriving, you must obtain a group number for Darshan. The three Pindis in the naturally formed cave offer a feeling of immense peace and devotion.

Comparing the Three Main Roads

Old Walkway (Via Ardhkuwari)

The traditional path with stairs and scenic views. Best for those who want to visit all the temples in sequence on foot.

New Tarakote Marg

A separate path designed only for walkers. It is smoother, has better food stalls, and no ponies or horses allowed, making it cleaner for walking pilgrims.

Helicopter & Battery Car Path

A specialized route for those with bookings. Helicopters land at Sanjichhat, and Battery Cars run from Ardhkuwari to the Bhavan for quick access.
